LC:M 2015 - Meet Alex Mattsson

Sci-fi inspired with futuristic aesthetics, more alien than wearable. Until now, that is how you might have described Alex Mattsson's designs in one sentence. Upon graduating from Central Saint Martins, his main prerogative was to "challenge every classical garment". And that certainly shows in his work.

After five years of hard graft, new collaborations, increasing acknowledgement from the industry and perhaps growing up a little, the Norwegian import made it onto the official schedule of one of the most prestigious events in men's fashion.

In recent years, he also began channelling his creativity into different areas of his collection. For Red Bull Catwalk Studio Alex teamed up with American rappers Brooke Candy and Zebra Katz to create a soundtrack for his show, embodying the idea behind his A/W13 collection.

For LC:M 2015 he felt an immense pressure to produce the best work he's ever done – harnesses, straps, and modular design paired with a growing interest in astrology.
