In Conversation: Artist and Collector
Collector Theo Danjuma, who set up and manages his family's contemporary art collection, met Neïl Beloufa at a show in New York and has been following his work and progress ever since. The collection's focus is on contemporary African artists and Paris-born Beloufa, of Algerian descent, has been part of the Danjuma Collection for some time. He was exhibited in One Man's Trash, a group showing, on display during this year's Frieze in London.
Beloufa's latest show, Counting on People, explores an audiences' conventional relationship with the digital screen, as well as the representation of digital information systems through video installations and sculptures. It is on at the ICA from now until November 16th, before moving on to Canada and Spain in the new year.
