Know Hope is as particular about the backdrop for his creations as the work itself. The artist specifically situates his art, when working on the street, in order to engage with the general public in "real time". The art becomes a personal landmark for the audience, each conversation differing according to whatever "baggage" his random spectators are carrying that day.
When exhibiting in a gallery, Know Hope approaches the installation with a view to creating a "narrative within the space", for the artist, context is always key. In his latest exhibition The Abstract And The Very Real, Know Hope further explores his interest in patriotism, a notion he views as peculiar when nobody has any influence over where they are born.
