LC:M 2015 - Meet Rachel James
Every year the British Fashion Council scouts out the most exciting new talent in fashion, straight from the university halls, to show their skills to the eager eyes of the London fashion scene during LC:M.
This year the choice included Westminster graduate Rachel James who exploded on the scene with her graduate collection Granny Flower in 2014.
Inspired by '70s fashion and flower power, the 24-year-old used her love for fine art and portraiture to create her designs. Upon graduating, Rachel set up and co-founded her namesake label with her partner Tom Ings.
While her beginnings were in womenswear, Rachel eventually realised that her passion for shapes and pattern cutting would be valued more in menswear. During her time at Westminster she interned at Acne Studios, Josh Goot and Todd Lynn, and each placement added a different tool to her designer skillset.
