Sam Causer

A few years ago, Sam Causer decided to make Margate in Kent his new home. The architect and local activist sees enormous potential in the once popular British seaside resort, that today sadly bares more resemblence to the abandoned amusement park at its centre.

With the arrival of the Turner Contemporary in 2011, the town seems to have embarked on the long journey towards its former glory, and Sam Causer's studio is a crucial force in promoting these developements.

Having been inspired years ago by friend David Hockney's opinion on how "profundity is not in the subject, it's in the way you look at it", his design ethos of creating buildings with people in mind was solidified.
